GASTRO NON GRATA: PRESURFEIT PERDITION
SUNDAY, NOV 24  @ TRIPLE ROCK SOCIAL CLUB
DOORS AT 6, SHOW AT 7 $12 ADV/$15 DOOR

Before you get ready for the belly strain of the Turkey Massacree, come on down to the Triple Rock to stretch your mental and sensory faculties. Surly Brewing Company will be on hand with mind bending brews and Burch Steak House and Pizza Bar will be on hand presenting morsels of animal tissue wrought from the recesses of unsuspecting cattle.

Music disclaimer: This show is going to start out fast and proceed to get heavier. There will be no chance to lift a pinky or think about tender feelings. It’s going to be cacophonous and we’re gonna hit the ground running with the pulsating garage psyche sounds of Narco States.  Followed by the ever bouncing, energetic exhibitions of Green Bay punk stalwarts Rev Norb and the Onions. To end the night we bring you in various state of disrobe, the MPLS Motorhead, Dumpster Juice.

DJ Shannon Blowtorch will be administering a steady diet of head bobbing and hip movement from the 1s and 2s in the back of the house between sets.

As always we’d like to thank our sponsor, Clancey’s Meat & Fish who provide for you frozen animal parts available to you within our Dead Meat Door Prize.

Gastro Non Grata: Intumescent Stockpile

Wednesday, August 14 at the Turf Club in St Paul
$10 all presale tix get a free hoodie while supplies last
Doors at 7, show at 8

It has been too long, so we’ve thrown together a show that will happen shortly. We’ll be putting on a Capitol City Masacree of epic proportions on Wed, August 14 at the Turf Club in St Paul.

The big guns have been brought, our friends at Surly Brewing are ready to make this mid-week gastronomic break something special, bringing palate pounding beers and a can do attitude  . Landon Schoenefeld of Haute Dish will be assembling small morsels of Flavor Country throughout the night to keep your foundation strong against these beers of Surly.

You’ll need to be on your feet to keep up with all this musical talent. We’re starting things off with the Union Suits; the honky tonkers that make drinking for a living seem like a viable option for the future. After that, Year of the Horse, a Solid Gold side project will probably be the most beautiful goddamn thing you’ve ever heard. To end the night we have White Bronco Buddies, an amalgam of talented players, crafty word spitters and musical personalities in town. You know them, we’re just not going to tell you who they are.
DJ Shannon Blowtorch will be holding down the ones and twos as usual, making us look more professional than we really are, and Clancey’s Meat and Fish will be giving us some high quality dead animal parts for the Dead Meat Door Prize.

We’re  throwing this impromptu hump day spectacular is because Andrew Zimmern is shooting a little ole’ web series and the talent pool of the Twin Cites has finally dried up enough where they got around to us.
So buy a ticket early to get a free hoodie and show up early, we’re gonna try to get AZ to handle some Cow Tongue with us and it’d look a lot better if we had a crowd.

Gastro Non Grata : Marrow Inamorata
Feb 10 Triple Rock Social Club $10 adv/$12 door
Doors at 6, show at 7

We’ve got a message to all you Valentinians out there? Now, Gastro’s not here to judge, we’re not here to tell you what love is or that you should read us poetry or present us with an organ shaped box of candy.

Gastro Non Grata would rather give you a chance to procure an actual beefheart from Clancey’s and make sarcasm sexy again than act like a bacon fat cupid on a paper heart holiday. When you love something, you can feel it in your bones. And if you suck the marrow from the bone, that means you really like it.

Heretofore, we welcome you back into the fold at the Triple Rock Social Club on this 10th of February to partake in Gastro Non Grata : Marrow Inamorata.

On the food front, Chefs Nick and Tyler from Borough Restaurant on Washington Ave will be supplying you with small portions of big flavor. Proving why they’re one of the most written about new restaurants in the city. Mixmaster Jesse Held may also have an alcoholic surprise for those of you that show up in the beginning stages of the show.

Corey Shovein from Founders Brewery will be on hand pouring alcoholic specimens of brewing technology. If you haven’t been drinking Founders, get ready. They’re always doing something interesting whether it be seasonal, year round or just plain weird.

As for the music, we kick things off with St Paul’s serenading stalwart sweetheart Martin Devaney,  he’s gonna kick things off by singing so pretty you’ll find yourself gazing off into the distance wondering why you’re so lucky. Then soul/funk outfit Southside Desire will bring the grooves that make the booty quiver and sway and make the big hole on the front of your head get toothy. Finally,  Bitch City will take the stage and remind you that a punch in the face doesn’t have to be a bad thing.

As always, DJ Shannon Blowtorch will be on hand to setting up a sonic fence that allows no weak jams to impede upon good times.

The ever popular Dead Meat Door Prize is sponsored by the amazing flesh cutters at Clancey’s Meat & Fish

Newly Sponsored by Vita.Mn and 89.3 The Current, give them a what’s up for us.
